Our Team

Daren Cassani

Daren started Top Hat Entertainment in 1996 with Damon Brink and Scott LeCours.  Damon and Scott previously worked at Supersounds DJ company, and Daren ran his own small DJ business.  In 2004, Daren's wife Jennifer Cassani bought out Scott LeCours' share of the business, as Scott decided to concentrate on other endeavors.  Daren still DJs quite often, especially playing music at many Vermont weddings throughout the year.  Scott and Damon, though no longer owners, still DJ many weddings and parties as well!

Michael Detch

Mike Detch was one of Top Hat's most-veteran employees...until January of 2012, when he became an owner of the company!  Although he got his start DJing in college, Mike began working for Top Hat in 1997, just a year after our incorporation.  He continues to be a very popular DJ, both at weddings and school dances. 

Drew Moshovetis

Drew began working for Top Hat in 1999 and has been very versatile, as he has DJed everything from school dances to corporate functions.  With a growing family, he primarily DJs weddings for us during the summer months. 

Damon Brink

Damon began his DJ career working for Supersounds DJ company while still in high school.  In 1996, he started Top Hat Entertainment with Scott and Daren.  After DJing for several years, Damon moved to Jamaica to open two new Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville restaurants.  He moved back to Vermont several years ago, became the owner of Nectar's in Burlington, and returned to DJing for Top Hat.  You can find Damon at many weddings throughout the summer months, especially in southern Vermont, as well as hosting many of our trivia nights (many in the Albany area, where he now resides).

Rob Jones

Rob has been one of our full-time DJs since he came to Top Hat Entertainment in 1999.  He gained several years of experience while working for Supersounds DJ Company from 1993 - 1999, as well as on 95XXX, a local radio station.  His popularity has made him one of our busiest DJs.  You can find Rob at many events, from college functions to wedding receptions.

Mark Thon

Mark started is DJ career in 1982 with The Music Revue DJ Service, and worked there until he bought the company in 1986.  Mark also worked for a time at Supersounds DJ company, both as a DJ and in an administrative role at the office.  He came to Top Hat Entertainment in 2005, and currently works in the Top Hat office, while also DJing many of our events and weddings, as well as hosting some of our trivia events.

Michael Moshovetis

Michael, known by most as 'Mojo' has been one of our most popular DJs since he began with Top Hat in 1997.  He also served as our office manager for a couple of years, in the late-1990s.  He began DJing at the age of 16, and has spent several years in Jamaica during Spring Break, helping run the entertainment at Margaritaville's in Negril.  While in Jamaica, he worked in conjunction with the Travel Channel, MTV, MSNBC and Jerry Springer.  Mojo DJs many corporate and private parties, as well as weddings throughout the summer months.  You can also find him at our popular Trivia Mania pub quiz at Nectar's on many Thursdays.

Jeremy Asarese

Jeremy has worked at Top Hat in several capacities; he served as our inflatables office manager, while also working many events each week.  A versatile DJ, Jeremy can be seen at various events, from Top Hat's Trivia Mania nights to weddings.

Jim Companion

Jim worked as a DJ in the mid-1990s for Spectrum Productions, and after some time off from DJing, joined the Top Hat team.  Another of our very versitile DJs, Jim can be found at our Trivia Mania events, as well as school dances, private parties and weddings.

Scott LeCours

Scott began his DJ career with Supersounds DJ company when he was in high school, and decided to pursue a business of his own in 1996, when he joined Damon Brink and Daren Cassani in forming Top Hat Entertainment.  A native of Underhill, Vermont, Scott now DJs weddings and parties throughout the year.

Jaimie Kramer

Jaimie came to Top Hat Entertainment bringing with him his years of musical experience and business ownership. He has played with several rock bands in the Burlington area and, until recently, Jaimie owned The Cobblestone Deli on Burlington’s waterfront.  You can find Jaimie at school dances, corporate events, and many private parties and weddings.
